Moon Astrology for August 11 – 17, 2019 – Full Moon Week

Full Moon Thursday has the Moon opposite Venus (6a early) and Mars (6p dinner PDT).

These opposite aspects to the Moon mean that the morning may be moody around the breakfast table, and it may be better to pick a different afternoon / evening for social time or risk upsets.

Fit lunch plans in between the clashes from 12p to 2p.

How to read the tips below:

Moon sign [Capricorn] + Element [Earth] + Moon Phase {Wax/Wane]
FQ+4 is four days after the First Quarter Moon.
FM+1 means it is one day after the Full Moon.
Times listed are Pacific Daylight Time.
Add 3 hours for EST.

Capricorn Earth Wax
FQ+4. Confusing morning. Consider if you can take a step ahead of normal abilities. Plan for your kind of full moon experience.

Capricorn Earth Wax
FQ+5. All systems are go. Wind up important tasks by 3p before the VC. Note how much of the original desire is here. See how to adapt.

Aquarius Air Waxing
FQ+6. Could be mixed feelings by lunch time. Plus emotional flare-ups are possible. Plan for some self-care to ease full moon tension.

Aquarius Air Waxing
FQ+7. The Moon and Jupiter make a much better morning than yesterday. Work details. Recognize the parts that are working.

Aquarius Full Moon
Find a perspective for the cycle. Notice how the vision changed. Watch for a tiring late afternoon and plan for an easy void evening to rest.

Pisces Water Wane
FM+1. Be prepared for unusual issues in the AM and full moon window. Believe what you do has value. Full light is on current results.

Pisces Water Wane
FM+2. Expect that you can find what you need. Complete tasks by 3p. Watch that others may have a full moon low mood.

New Year’s and Waning Moon

Riding Moon Cycles New Year's Last Quarter Moon

The good news is that you’re off the hook for acting on any resolutions this week.

Why? This week the moon is in the Last Quarter, the letting go phase of the moon. Start the short week slowly to adjust from a past to future outlook with the New Year’s ritual of change. Better this week to take care of overlooked items that were set aside during the holidays. At some point a new vision may pop up on its own.

The preparation time is for the New Moon on Saturday January 5, 2019. It’s also a partial solar eclipse in Capricorn at 15 degrees. The best use of this day is to infuse a vision with the emotions of already having what you want, right now, in the present moment. Like playing a movie in your head. See the images and feel the emotions.

Start New Year’s Resolutions after the eclipse passes, so that means next week. We all experience the flow of the moon cycle differently. Sometimes a spark of a new vision comes during Last Quarter week and other times it appears a good many days after the new moon. Either way is okay with the moon cycle. Be on the lookout for it with an expectant frame of mind.

Have these moon cycle concepts at your fingertips each day with the new 2019 Moon Astrology Planner.

Warm wishes for a great new year to you! I appreciate your stopping by today.

Lunar Hair Tip #5 – Thicker Hair

Just about every source in the history of lunar hair cutting agrees that the Full Moon is the best phase for seeing thicker growth after a cut or trim.

Lunar Hair Tip #5 - Thicker Hair

I like to refine that notion to include the two days before and after the Full Moon because that is the most concentrated window of time when the Moon travels through Earth’s magnetotail. If you are sensitive to the Moon’s magnetic qualities like I am, you will know what I mean. If not, that’s okay, NASA figured it out for us.

Folklore says to choose any Full Moon for this treatment. It is my experience that it is wise to skip Virgo, Cancer and Pisces. Virgo is barren and better suited for haircuts during the waning moon. Cancer and Pisces are both excluded with the ongoing Pisces-Cancer Debate. I have to say that Libra is wet and hot and would also not be my first choice.

On all the other days of the moon cycle other than the Full Moon, the focus is on specific astrological signs for the goal of thicker hair after a haircut or trim. The recommended signs in order of popularity and importance for lunar hair cutting are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Capricorn.

Taurus and Capricorn are semi-fertile; Scorpio has the class of fertile.

Taurus, Leo, and Capricorn are all dry.

Taurus, Capricorn and Scorpio are cold.

Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio are Fixed.

Leo, a popular sign for haircuts and thicker growth (think lion’s mane) is curious in this category because it is barren and hot, and so unlike the astrological qualities of the other signs. European folklore from the year 1748 has a published almanac about cutting hair at the Leo moon as the common practice. We accept the votes from folklore and history as valid, even with a little mystery. Write to me or comment if you have further insight.

Choose both a Full Moon and a recommended astrological sign for maximum impact. A Taurus full moon. A Leo full moon. A Scorpio full moon. A Capricorn full moon.

Did you miss it this month? That’s okay, grab your astrology calendar and choose future dates with the next Full Moons and astrological signs. It’s also a good practice to look ahead for the whole year to see how many dates will be available. If you need more help, all of the dates are calculated for easy reference in Lunar Hair 2017.
